The black of this long dress is never quite plain: a deep green runs through it and shows itself according to the light. The cut drops to the ankle, 142 cm in all, with no seaming or gathering at the waist. The sleeves run down over the wrist and follow the arm closely, and the armhole stays narrow.
A Flowing Viscose, Free of Ornament
The viscose, 100% here, falls without stiffness and keeps the line close to the body. Nothing weighs the surface down: the Martikka dress rests on its colour and its movement, which sets it clearly apart from the more worked pieces of the house. It creases very little through the day.
How to Wear It When the Air Turns Cool
A slim leather belt set high breaks the vertical and shortens the torso; add square-heeled ankle boots and a long coat left open. A second, more urban route: opaque tights, tall boots, a short leather jacket over the shoulders, the green of the fabric answering a khaki bag.
