Black, falling straight to the ankle
The Valentine dress runs long and narrow in a plain black, with nothing to interrupt the line from shoulder to hem. A drawstring gathers the waist as tightly or as loosely as you like. That single choice changes the whole shape of the dress.
Viscose and lace
It is cut from viscose with a soft, weighted drape, light enough to move and settle again without holding a crease. Fine lace finishes edge the dress and catch the light as you walk. Tie the waist high for a defined shape, or leave it loose and let the fabric fall straight.
How to wear it
For mid-season, slip a thin black roll-neck underneath and knot the drawstring over the knit, with square-heeled ankle boots below. Another route: opaque tights, flat boots and a long coat left open, belted at the waist over the dress. A short leather jacket works too, its clean shoulder against the fluid viscose.

Care
Dry cleaning is what the house recommends for this piece. Between wears, a pass of steam releases the creases without flattening the fabric. Keep it on a wide hanger, away from direct light. Avoid a thin hanger, which ends up marking the shoulders.
